I have hit this place up twice already. April 11th and 12th, 2018. This chrome diner was a bit hard to find again since I'm not familiar with the area. Only I could have missed this place while searching for it. It's a 50s style atmosphere complete with old style tables and booths, a jukebox, and era memorabilia on the walls. You can catch the groovy tunes while grabbing a burger and french fries.

Now, I dunno if the jukebox works, but if I find out it does, yanno I'm bringing a bunch of quarters next time. Though, as said, there's a constant stream of 50's music playing in this cute little diner.
My son was rather disturbed by the stuffed doll they have sitting up at the counter. Pretty sure her name is "May". This was a bit odd a find, but I'm not easily creeped out (have ya seen my kids?). The first time I walked by, in a hurry to the restroom (which was marked Guys and Dolls), I thought she was a real person. This is also coming from the girl who missed a CHROME diner about four times.
They have $5 lunch specials but they vary by the day. The personal pan pizza for my youngest was HUGE. I got the country fried chicken (the sausage gravy was amazing with fries) and the second day, I opted for a burger. Decent food, but honestly, I was there more for the atmosphere and service. Food is food when you're tired and a good deal from home. Service was pretty amazing. Our waitress gave me an alternative route home so I didn't have to backtrack in order to find my way. This not only shaved an easy 15 minutes off my commute, but I missed a two hour traffic jam on the highway. She even came out to the parking lot to see me off and make sure I understood the directions. That was handy because I often get confused while driving outside of my local and I'd have probably doubted I was following them, turned around, and been utterly lost. Again. I'm ashamed to admit I never got her name, I don't recall seeing a name tag.
I also wasn't aware that at this diner you cannot add tip to your card when checking out. I was mortified because I never have cash on me. Luckily, I was coming back the following day since we were at Cal U for state testing for my kids. And she was very sincere when she said not to even worry about it. Of course, I worried about it and had enough cash for the two days tip, but usually you can tell when someone says not to worry and they're not real sincere about it. She was very sincere and kind and that sticks out to me as well.
I had read reviews elsewhere that complained about the food being basic and frozen, etc. Yanno, I can't confirm or deny that but I suspect it is the case from what my taste buds tell me. But, again, I really don't care that much. You can have the best food in the world but if service is basic, ya lost me. And service here was FAR FROM BASIC.
If you want the 50s atmosphere, you have GOT to try this place.
